30 Year Reunion

Our 30 year reunion was at The Swiss downtown last Saturday. About 60 classmates were there. (The classes of '81 and '83 were also invited.) I was quite surprised while I was looking around to see Ryan Stiles walk in, then back out to the sidewalk. A handful of us went out to get our picture taken with him (mine turned out blurry). He was there to MC an auction in another part of the bar. We had a great time visiting with people we hadn't seen in many years.

All About the Room - Sept. 5

Life has been all about the classroom for the last couple of weeks. My room started out looking like this:

And with Matthew's help getting the piano moved and chairs off the counter, I now have a green, semi-owl-themed room.

My piano is now back where it belongs.

This is about the same view as the top photo.

And here is my new Boggle board. The letters have magnets that stick to the side of my file cabinet. The kids have a worksheet where they can copy down the letters into a grid, then list their words and the points they are worth. The kids are excited to get started with that word game. The first day went pretty well. Three of my 20 kids did not show up, but at least one is expected to be there. I'm not sure if we'll have enough students to continue the 3/4 split, but I hope we do.
