Zoo Visit - Mar. 21

One of my students celebrated her birthday by having the zoo come in with a lesson on water and a visit from an armadillo! The kids loved the hands on activities and each got to touch the armadillo (can't remember his name...Skippy is close but doesn't sound right). It was a great way to celebrate a birthday. Her mom works at the zoo and buys the workshop as a birthday treat for the whole class each year. Much better than cupcakes any day!

Sitting Cat - March 18

Zoey doesn't like to be held like a normal cat. She only likes it if her feet are secure. Matthew walked around with her sitting in his hands like this...pretty funny.

Snow Again - March 13

I didn't get a photo, but it started snowing (looked like a blizzard) just before I left for work. Parents at work bombarded the office with calls asking whether we were closed or delayed (neither). The snow didn't stick, but it had repeat performances throughout the day. K-2 went on a field trip and the librarian went as a chaperone so I got to teach library (yea! and much better than supervising the little ones on a crazy day). Matthew had his Senior Boards and Nicholas got his Bronco mostly running.

Snow Dusting - March 6

Today we woke up to snow. Luckily it was pretty much melted from the streets before I left for work. Both Matthew and Owen sent me warning texts about icy spots, but my drive was smooth. The sun came out later in the day and it warmed up quite a bit. I guess that's what spring weather is all about!

Nick's Birthday - Mar. 5, 2012 (a day early)

We celebrated Nicholas's birthday early because he wanted to go to Lieu's for dinner but they are closed on Monday. His favorite is their fried rice so we got lots of that.

We went over to Mama and Papa's to open presents and see the dogs. He got a lot of nice presents. I can't believe he's not going to be a teenager anymore!
