Surprise! - Feb. 24

My student teacher's wife will be having a baby in April so we decided to have a surprise baby shower for them (Ryan and Kasi). It was Dale's birthday, so with Dale's help, we decided to have a surprise birthday party for Dale and have Ryan be in charge of getting Dale to the party. When they walked in, Ryan couldn't believe the party was really for him. We had the party at Sue's house, close to school. One neat coincidence is that Sue and Ryan's mom know each other from way back!

Kasi surprised him, then a bit later his mom arrived, too.

We had some good food, played some games, and showered them with baby gifts. I was in charge of the games. I got a pink canvas tub with 10 baby items in it. Ryan was blindfolded while Kasi handed him the items. Afterward, everyone had to remember the items that were in the tub.

We also had a "wish pig" with decorated papers to write a wish on, then put in the piggy bank with some coins. Later people got to guess the amount in the bank. It was a fun surprise and their first official baby shower.

Golden Anniversary! - Feb. 12 (Feb. 9)

We celebrated Mom and Dad's 50th anniversary at Lieu's. Mark, Kelly, and the kids came down. Wally and Jackie joined us which made 15. Unfortunately I forgot my camera, but Matthew had his iPhone. We had a huge dinner and then we picked up an ice cream cake at Baskin Robbins for dessert. Happy Anniversary!
