Happy Anniversary - June 30

A very happy anniversary wish goes out to Owen's parents who have been married for 54 years (if I counted correctly).

I miss my cat. I put away dishes from the diswasher and one was the one I usually fed him his canned food on and that made me very sad. I guess it's only been a week and a half...I guess I'm allowed to feel that way still.

Happy Anniversary to Us - June 23

Owen and I got married on a beautiful beach in Kauai just two years ago today. I loved that today's weather was perfect, and finally over the 75 degree mark!

Our strawberries are growing, although not in a place we'd like them...they are in our front yard with a decorative bush and a tree. Last year we had one strawberry and it got eaten before we could pick it. This year, both Matthew and I got to taste one today and they're not bad.

Goodbye Snickers - June 21

We had to say goodbye to Snickers today. He was only 11 years old but had lymphoma. He had been doing pretty well with prednizone pills, but lately gave up on eating and only got up to move from one sleeping spot to the other. He was a GREAT cat!

He liked to be vacuumed (and to bite the vacuum hose).

He used to love to stand on my shoulders and look all around the house.

He was strange because he actually enjoyed taking showers...

...and getting blowed dry.

For some reason, Matthew's ear wax tasted expecially good to him.

He put up with Santa hats...

...and winter scarves.

He had his share of boo-boos...

...and loved to find neat hidey places.

Snickers was a great cat and we will miss him terribly.

Nicholas's Graduation Party - June 12

We lucked out with the weather for Nicholas's graduation party last Saturday. Family and friends joined in the celebration.
It was great seeing everyone, especially Karen (Dad's cousin) and Gordon, who we haven't seen for many years.






Nicholas even carved his initials into his cake cap. Congratulations Nick!

Graduation Night! - June 11

Nicholas is now a high school graduate. He's going to the all night party afterward with about 150 other seniors. They will get to go go-karting, do casino games, do a velcro wall, and much more.

Senior Prom - June 5

I tagged along to Ashley's house to take pictures before the prom. They are going to Varsity Grill for dinner and the prom is at Union Station. They're taking Papa's car. I took one of Papa's cars when I went to my Senior Prom...not this one, although he did have it at the time...

Uh Oh! - June 4

Owen went out to take down the part of our deck that was attached to the old hot tub and look what happened! He got carried away! We have Nicholas's graduation party in a week...can the deck be rebuilt in that time? Stay tuned!

Honors Assembly - June 2

Nicholas is an honor graduate and the assembly was tonight. It's nice to have this separate from the graduation, since it was 2 hours long! Here's Nicholas getting his medallion and cord which he'll wear on graduation day.

He has known John since preschool. It was neat that they ended up at the same high school. They both worked at Safeway together, too, until John quit. It's a small world, sometimes.
