My New Niece

I finally got to meet my new niece. Catherine (Catie) was born October 4th at a whopping 9 lbs, 14 oz...she was trying to beat my boys' birth weights but didn't quite make it...another day or two and she would have! October 4th was our grandparent's Anniversary. Her middle name, Solveig, was our grandma's first name. She is a sweetheart. At 7 weeks, she was very alert and just casually watching whoever was holding her and other people around her. Jack seems to do well with her. Congratulations Mark and Kelly!

Tin Grin and Brace Face

Both boys got braces put on in the last few weeks. Matthew's are blue, Nicholas chose silver. They don't even mind showing them off. They're going to have pretty teeth when they're done! And no, Matthew is not really taller than Nicholas, they are just squatting down to be next to my scarecrow guy.

I realized while I was reading another blog that I forgot to post Nicholas and Heather's "official" photo from the dance. I love the background (looks great in person) and the whole picture has a shiny, silvery finish. Nicholas looks like he's 10 feet tall, too!

Spooky Halloween

Nicholas scared a bunch of neighbors when he jumped up after they walked up to the porch. He was nice enough to do this only with the bigger kids...he didn't want to terrify any little ones. They also put stereo speakers out the window and played a Halloween tape to entertain the neighborhood. The pumpkins turned out great, don't you think?
